Day Adventure Plan
Early Morning (07:00 - 08:30)
Arrival & Briefing at Forest Gate
Meet your expert ranger at the main gate. After a brief introduction to the forest's ecology and safety guidelines, we begin our trek through the Cynometra forest zone, where the canopy provides a cool shield from the morning sun.
Mid Morning (09:00 - 11:30)
The Golden-Rumped Elephant Shrew Trail
Trek quietly through the Mixed Forest zone. Keep your eyes peeled for the forest's "Big Five" of small creatures, specifically the rare Elephant Shrew. This is also the prime time for birding—look out for the Sokoke Scops Owl and Clarke's Weaver.
Noon (12:00 - 13:30)
Nyari View Point & Forest Lunch
Ascend the gentle slope to the Nyari View Point, which offers a stunning panoramic view over the forest canopy out toward the Indian Ocean. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch while taking in the serene landscape.
Afternoon (14:00 - 16:00)
Gede Ruins Exploration (Optional)
Conclude your hike and take a short drive to the nearby Gede Ruins. Wander through the remains of a 13th-century Swahili town swallowed by the forest before heading back to your coastal resort.
